The HMF Swamp Series was designed for several reasons:

1. The most obvious is to handle the underwater riding conditions.  Most other mufflers including the HMF Utilitiy Series does not keep water out.  The Swamp Series has a water tight canister and optional snorkle to allow you to submerge the muffler and go as deep as you want.  The Swamp Series is completely sealed and maintenance free --No packing to worry about soaking or burning out!
2. They muffler makes power, yet is quiet.  Typically, quiet and power never get along together.  The swamp series core design flows very close to the performance curves of the HMF Utility Series.  HMF Swamp Series are also designed to be nearly stock quiet!  This means you can ride in those areas requiring 100 dB and lower.
3. Meets EPA tier two emission standards of 2008-2010.  This means the manufacturers have to lower the emission output of their machines. Whenever that hapens internal exhaust temperatures raise. We decided to design a muffler that will be up to the task of whatever temperature the manufacturers can throw at us.
   A stainless steel body can handle internal exhaust temperatures much higher than an aluminum body, which means as the manufacturers raise internal temperatures to meet the 2008~2010 EPA standard the body will be able to take the heat. --Source http://www.hmfengineering.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3233

The HMF Swamp Series exhaust is designed to go fender deep and features a five inch stainless steel, watertight canister.  It has a CNC milled removable end cap that is TIG welded for uncompromising durability.  These are a slip-on design exhaust system.

Get stock sound levels with huge horsepower increases with the Swamp Series. Add the Quiet Core insert to bring those noise levels down further.  Ideal for hunting and riding in state parks.

The optional snorkle kit includes snorkle spigot with a welded flange, for a watertight system that can be submerged.  The snorkle simply installs into the exhaust end cap!

NOTES: The HMF Swamp Series exhaust and HMF Swamp XL are not the same!  The Swamp Series XL (not sold here) is a much louder exhaust, similar to the HMF Utility Series exhausts, with noise levels that range around 102-105 decibels.
