The Sand Star is a new generation of sand tire design and technology, produced by one of the most innovative ATV tires in the business, ITP. Rear tires feature a dual scoop design, with 8 full 1-1/4" paddles (one of the deepest on the market) and 8 mini scoop paddles. This is a patent pending combination that creates much quicker and effective hook-up acceleration than anything on the market.
| Sand Stars are ideal for open sand dunes. They have a bright yellow Sand Star sidewall logo, and molded ITP logos right on the tire. The tire itself has an extremely lightweight carcass, and special rubber compound. This delivers that ideal combination of flotation, flexibility, and cornering capability you demand in a sand tire. Sand Stars are available in 18", 20" and 22"! |

From www.roostingthedunes.com:
"Now on to the dunes to do some initial testing. We started out with some hill climbing of the 70+ foot dunes on our Sand Sharks and then our Sand Skate 2's. We then put on our new Sand Stars. The first thing we noticed about the tires was the weight. They weigh quite a bit less than the Sand Sharks and they are close to the same weight of the Sand Skate 2's.
We were quite impressed with the ability of these tires to "Hook Up" on the hill climbs. The turning ability is good, as with most V-Blade Sand Tire designs. We had no problems with controlling the back end of our Banshee. One thing we suggest is that if you ride with someone that has these tires, be sure not to ride directly behind them, or you will get roosted often."
